Working Lass Online Archive Launch and Celebration
26th June 2025
I am very honoured to be nominated and be asked to be one of the women of this wonderful and important celebration of women’s often under recognised and forgotten contributions to arts, culture, politics, and community. I never thought that what I had achieved for the past 20 years plus was relevant to anyone except myself, but if anything I am resilient, adaptive and still creative after all these years despite the barriers, like many women out there.
On Thursday 26th June 2025, a lovely couple of early evening hours were spent in good company at the Pink Collar Gallery Working Lass Online Archive launch funded by the National Lottery.
The whole project is uplifting and important and well worth visiting via the PinkCollarGallery website to read the first collection of bios.
If you would like to find out more about my journey to and through sound, then please visit my artist page where you’ll see the wonderful artwork that was on printed banners created by Sullivan aka Odd Gospels , a graphic designer based here in the North East and info.
Many thanks also go to Liv Asquith Art and Miki Rogers for words, zine, and additional artwork and support to the project.
Last but not least many thanks to Michaela Wetherell, the driving force behind this project and Pink Collar Gallery, for supporting local underrepresented artists in the North East for the past few years.
I am really honoured to be considered and included among these brilliant women.
This is just the start, I hope, to document and include the many women involved in our community in the North East, who deserve a better spotlight and no better spotlight than this project 👏
