UPDATE NOVEMBER 2024

Is it a cliché to say “Where has this year gone?”

Things have not gone too smoothly this year, as I am increasingly getting absorbed into being a carer for my husband and also having a massive clear-out and reorganisation which is taking a long time.. However, I have managed to be creative, albeit in hit and miss ways.

I am still making short videos under the title of One Minute Wonders and I have a couple ready to upload soon.

On Instagram I have been exploring the spoken and written word with a local poetry group King Ink. This has resulted in creating collage postcard poetry, documenting my husband’s vascular dementia and it’s effects on us both. This is a long term process. More about this here soon.

Also on Instagram I have been documenting the last days of the big old sycamore in a neighbours garden, that has dominated our outlook for over 30 years. Due to the weather and age it is due to come down this week. Requiem for a Tree are short videos recording the soundscape around and in it. Lets see what the area sounds like after it has gone? I’m hoping to create a longer sound piece from all the sound I have collected.

I have also been selected (along with others) to have my migration piece Numbers for the Cities and Memories project Migration Sounds, as part of a large sound installation at the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford this week. More information to come.

I hope to finally have a little more time to try and finally get Insects II out in the New Year…Watch this this space.

Well, best sign off here and as always I wish you well.
